Running a Basic Valuation
Before you can run a valuation you need to have set up a basis. Then take the following steps.
Log into Mantle.
Navigate to “Valuation Bases” under “Actuarial”:

Find the valuation basis you wish to run a valuation on and click on it in the basis table list.
Click on “click to add another”, select the date you want to run the valuation at and then let the magic happen. Note there are multiple valuation types (see below) for a given basis.

Once the results have been run you can click on the row and select to either view the results or download a csv file (like Excel®) for analysis. You can also select “Member Detail” or “Data Download” but it’s unlikely that you will require these if you are simply running some calculations.
Valuation types
Using a single basis you can get different types of results. There are currently three basic options available in separate tables on the basis screen.
Single Basis Valuations (member details)
This runs a simple valuation at a single date on the scheme benefits. The results available for download split the liability by member and type of benefit payment in great detail. The downloaded results also contain the derived valuation basis.
Single Basis Valuations (Cashflows)
This runs a simple valuation at a single date on the scheme benefits. The results available for download show a projections to future years of Annual Nominal Cashflows, Liabilities, and Discounted Cashflows (the sum of which is equal to the time zero liability). The different sets of results follow vertically one after the other and each is split by benefit payment type (dependants, pensioners, pension increases etc). The downloaded results also contain the derived valuation basis.
PPF Valuations (member details)
This runs a valuation at a single date on the PPF benefits for the scheme. The assessment date is assumed to be equal to the valuation date selected. The results available for download split the liability by member and type of benefit payment in great detail. The downloaded results also contain the derived valuation basis.
